Semrock Introduces New BrightLine® Multiband “Pinkel” Sets for Fluorescent Proteins

Rochester, N.Y. – Semrock, Inc., today announced the introduction of three exciting new multiband optical filter sets for the most popular fluorescent proteins, significantly enhancing their selection of the award-winning BrightLine series of multiband filter sets.

Semrock's exceptional new filter sets are perfectly optimized for the real-time analysis
of living cells labeled with multiple fluorescent proteins. The sets address the highly requested combinations of CFP/YFP, GFP/DsRed, and CFP/YFP/HcRed, and each set includes exceptionally efficient multiband beamsplitter and multiband emission filters, with separate "no burn-out" single-band exciters, in the so-called "Pinkel" configuration. Two of the sets are also ideal for use with a number of other red fluorescent protein variations and orange-red dyes.

"Fluorescent proteins have brought the analysis of protein localization to a new level, enabling real-time observation of processes in living cells that were previously only observable as isolated snapshots in fixed specimens. Our unique Ion-Beam-Sputtering (IBS) technology provides us with a significant advantage in making these complex multiband filters, which have the highest transmission, steepest edges and highest inter-passband blocking on the market," said Dr. Turan Erdogan, CTO of Semrock. "Development of these sophisticated filter sets was a natural application of the industry-leading BrightLine technology that has gained so much market acceptance by major OEM's and end-users alike. We are delighted to be able to offer these state-of-the-art multiband filter sets as stock catalog products."

Overall, Semrock's patented BrightLine fluorescence filters provide the highest transmission for maximum brightness while simultaneously providing superior contrast for high specificity. Additionally, they are made exclusively with dense hard-coating technology without any adhesives in the optical path. Their unparalleled optical performance is made possible by combining the most modern ion-beam sputtering deposition systems with Semrock's proprietary optical-coating technology. All BrightLine catalog filter sets are in stock for quick shipment.
