product warranty. The warranty coincides with the five-year
anniversary of Semrock’s first catalog products – the
BrightLine® series of fluorescence filters.
Semrock sold its first standard catalog optical filters
to end-users five years ago, after pioneering fluorescence
filters made with hard Ion Beam Sputtered coatings for
the OEM market. Those original BrightLine filters are
still being used in research laboratories, hospitals,
and universities around the world, and continue to produce
the same dazzling results, year after year. “We
have long subjected numerous filter samples to rigorous
MIL-spec environmental testing as well as optical testing,
but now we have the added confidence that comes from
the careful evaluation of samples of these original filters
from five years ago. They are still going strong, as
expected with our Ion Beam Sputtering process which produces
dense, hard thin-film coatings that are impervious to
humidity and common solvents,” said Dr. Turan Erdogan,

hundreds of thousands of our filters from across our
