ROCHESTER,
N.Y., July
23, 2007 – Semrock,
Inc., the
leading manufacturer of high-performance optical filters
for the Biotech and Analytical
Instrumentation markets,
today announced the extension of its renowned BrightLine
series of hard-coated fluorescence filters to include
the near-infrared digital imaging of biological samples.
Semrock’s latest “no burn-out” fluorescence
filter sets offer superb brightness and excellent signal-to-noise
ratio performance for the near-IR fluorophores Cy5.5
and Cy7, and are equally well optimized for Alexa Fluor® 680
and 750.
Near-IR
fluorescence imaging is rapidly increasing in popularity
due to the deeper tissue penetration
possible
in this wavelength range, thus enabling imaging of thicker
tissue samples for applications like small-animal imaging.
Although tissue scattering inherently results in lower
detected light levels, Semrock’s new near-IR filters
sets, made as always with its advanced Ion Beam Sputtering
technology, are optimized exclusively for use with digital
cameras. As a result these new low-loss near-IR fluorescence
filter sets offer the highest signal-to-background performance,
immediately making them the filters of choice for critical
near-IR fluorescence imaging applications.
BrightLine
filter sets, available with certified sub-pixel image
registration, ship rapidly
from Semrock’s extensive
stock in sizes that fit all major fluorescence microscopes.
All BrightLine filter sets are hard-coated for proven “no
burn-out” performance.
BrightLine filters are covered by U.S. patents issued
and pending.
